In working for a degree, one has the flexibility to develop a Program of Study and Research that draws from the multidisciplinary fields and practice to meet the Candidate's interests within the guidelines of the degree requirements.
Any Candidate accepted in the straight MA-PhD program is required only a dissertation to satisfy the research requirement of the program.
Thus, fields of specialization within the OD program have been opened.
Such specializations are in the fields of:
- Microfinance Management
- Social Entrepreneurship
- Enterprise Leadership
- Life Coaching
- Transformative Spirituality
- Human Capital Management
- Human Resource Management
In addition, we continue to develop or co-develop New and Interdisciplinary fields of specialization in response to vibrant work settings.
SAIDI School of Organization Development aims to provide leaders, organizers, corporate managers and executives with integrative frameworks and tools essential to face the various issues and concerns challenging organizations today.
Features of the Program
Definition of Learner's Goal - The initiative in planning his/her program of study is assumed by the learner in consultation with the Dean or his/her designated representative.
Pragmatic orientation - The Programs are directed towards providing the learners with an integrative perspective and philosophy complemented with the necessary specialist skills in obtaining, retrieving and applying specific sets of information to different problem-solving areas.
Individually self-paced approach - To provide for individual differences and needs, an individualized study approach such as independent study modules and small group discussions are used.
Criterion mastery and grading system - There is no quantitative grading system. The grade of "Completed" is given to the learner who has satisfactorily completed the requirements of the module.
Research - The learner is expected to engage in intensive action research work for each module in his/her program. Ideally, six months after the approval of his/her program of study, the learner defends his/her thesis proposal.
