Jaime Aristotle B. Alip (born April 22, 1957) is a Filipino entrepreneur, politician and the Founder and Managing Director of the CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (MRI), a group of companies established to empower poor women and to help alleviate poverty in the Philippines. CARD is the largest micro finance institute in the Philippines.

Aris has won several awards for his work, such as the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay award in 2008 for public service. He was appointed as presidential adviser for Economic Empowerment of the Rural Poor in March 2011.

Aris completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Organization Development from  SAIDI in 2002.  He also completed several post-graduate programs, including the Owner/ President Management Program(Awarded Best in Strategy) in 2007 from Harvard Business School, Harvard University (Boston, USA); Program on Global Management in 2000 from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio, USA); Agricultural Communication and Extension in 1980 from the Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand; Leadership Training in 1983 from the Asian Rural Institute, Tochiki-Gen, Japan; and, the Program for Development Managers in 1985 from the Asian Institute of Management (Manila, Philippines).

He completed his Masters in Professional Studies in Agricultural Marketing (IAPMP Fellow) from University of the Philippines in Los Banos in 1983. Aris also graduated from UPLB in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agri-Economics (PHILSUGIN Scholar, Laguna Provincial Scholar).

Aris’ extensive international experience in microfinance and rural development and having served as advisory to many Asean microfinance projects make him a great mentor.
