Conchita Manabat or “Chit” is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an MBA degree holder. Chit also participated and completed programs from the University of the Philippines (UP), the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI), the Harvard Business School and Pennsylvania State University.
In her 35 years in the financial industry, she has achieved many firsts in her profession. Robert Campbell, the former CEO and Managing Partner of Deloitte Asia Pacific once said that Chit has given a new meaning to the term 'DTT' (Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu) as “determined, tenacious, and tough."
Chit was the first woman President of the Philippine Association of Management Accountants from 1981 to1982, the first woman chair of the Board of Accountancy of the Philippines from 1995 to 1997, the first woman Chair to lead the Philippines’ Capital Market Development Council (CMDC) from 2003 to 2006, and the first woman chair of the International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI) from 2005 to 2006.
Chit sits as a member of the Board in different companies and is also a Trustee of the University of San Carlos (Cebu City, Philippines), the Institute for Women Studies, and the Children’s Hour. |
